Reading my email today I came a cross a few suggestion from Warren Buffett, offering a few suggestion on how to fix the deficit in 5 minutes.
He suggests
1.No tenure/No pension.
A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2.Congress[past,present and future]participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into Social Security system and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, like all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a raise.Congressal pay will raise by the lower CPI or 3%.
5. Congress will lose their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with the past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/2012. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congress made all the contracts for themselves.
SERVING IN CONGRESS IS A HONOR,NOT A CAREER.
The founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators,so ours should serve their term[s], then go home and back to work.
This is how you fix Congress.
Warren Buffet is a smart man don't you think. We should demand this from our Congressman and simply do as suggested by a wise man.

The Protest Continues
ThursdayOctober 6, 2011
After a mass demonstration in New York City, which was attended by 15,000 people ,including unions, senior citizens, students and the police. We see that the people who are protesting and speak for all of us, continue to demonstrate the fundamental rights of Americans to protest peacefully, to speak on our behalf and try to point out that the 99% of people in this country have lost the right to pick and choose the leaders of our government .We hear, our President, ask the Congress to pass a bill that would create jobs, this bill would help employe people to fix the roads and bridges that need repair. The Republican controlled House of Representatives kills the bill on the floor the House. How many collapsed bridges would it take to get the House to act on this bill. When a political part comes out and states that their number one priority is to limit the President to one term in office. I would feel that their job is to make sur that I would do anything in my power to help people have jobs ,feed their families, pay their bills and live their lives as Americans do
When a congressman puts the needs of the people on the back burner and tries just to do the things that will harm the people he represents is it in the best interest of the country to have people like this in office. W Wpay their salaries, we furnish them with the best healthcare, the best retirement anyone could wish for and better pay than most Americans will ever see. As far as I can tell they work for us we pay them why don't they do as we ask? So in the real world if your boss asked you to do something and you don't you get fired, or are made accountable. It seems that the congressman that gets the handout from lobbyist are only responsible to the people the lobbyist represents, not the people that elected them but to the interest of a select few. I don't think I remember that from any civics classe I attended in school.
I am proud of my fellow Americans who are standing up and protesting against the 1% that control, paid for the people elected to represent me. I have always believed in government of the people, by the people, for the people. Let's all try to remember that this country was founded on the principles of a free society.

There are monied interest that would like to see the people in a herding position where they can pay us as little as money as possible to protect what they believe is their right to have as much money as they want. They feel that they are entitled with the power, money, to control the lives of everyone in our country. The idea of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is an unalienable right that money should not be able to buy. They cannot buy a law to stop these rights, but they feel they can buy, influence the people elected by us,paid by us, with money, gifts and promises, that go against the ideals this country was founded on and this is wrong. Stand up and be heard this also is our right, peaceful protest is our right. Let's take back our rights, lets take back our country!!!

The People Protest
Hooray!!It's good to see that the people are finally protesting against Wall Street. We have to let the politicians know, that we the people are sick and tired of them playing political games. The President has asked the Congress to pass this jobs bill that he proposed to Congress. To ask the wealthy people in our country to pay their fair share so we can reduce the deficit. To help create inter-structure jobs for the people, these jobs are for the repair of bridges and highways. There comes a time in the history of a country when the people have to speak to their representatives. These people work for us not some corporation, in order to be heard we have to march if it takes 150 million people to get our message to our representatives we will do it. It's time for our representatives to act for us the people. The Republican representatives have to stop, cutting this out of the budget, cutting that out of the budget they have to realize that we the people want education, want a health plan for everybody, want jobs so people can feed their families, so people can have medical coverage for their families. We all have to remember that those in Congress work for us, not special interest, not the lobbyists, not big business. There's an old saying" we are all in this together, let's work together", we can replace them if it comes down to that, they have to work for us we pay them. So what do we do, we support the people in the streets, we write phone telegraph our congressmen, We wanted jobs bill, we want everyone to pay their fair share of the mess that were in. We did not cause it, it was speculation from Wall Street that has caused this deficit. We will take it to the streets, we will PROTEST, we want OUR voices heard. Again we have the power of the ballot, we expect that the people we elect will do what's good for all of us, not a select few, not the rich, but all of us. Support the people in the streets, go to the rallies, let your voice be heard it's time people to take our government back.

What Social Security is about
From a friend who was in the financial world before he retired. This is very appreciated in light of what's going on!! Remember not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did to. It total 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30,000 over your forty-year working life, that's close to $220,500. If you calculate the future value of $4500 per year[yours and your employer's contribution] at a simple 5% [less than what the government pays on the money that it borrows], after 49 years of working you have $892,919.98. If you took out only 3% per year, you would receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years and that's with no interest paid on the final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you have a lifetime income of $2976.40 per month. Folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madhoff ever did. Entitlement, my foot, I paid cash for my Social Security insurance!! Just because the folks in Washington have borrowed the money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!! Congressional benefits, a.k.a. free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that's welfare and they have to call my retirement entitlements!!!! They call social security and Medicare an entitlement, even though most of those have been paying for it all our working lives and now when it's time for us the clock the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? They can bail out businesses, banks and Wall Street without batting an eye to do it. Why does this happen? Talk about allowing Wall Street to have our money, the privatization of Social Security is wrong, wrong, wrong we cannot allow this to happen, not today, not tomorrow or ever. It's our money, the peoples not the governments, not big business, not Wall Street. We shall not let this happen.

What is wrong with this country?
Before I started to write this,I give it much thought, the events of the last few days have left mewith the feeling that there is not equal justice for all. We executed a man in Georgia that maybe was innocent of the charges against him, I have always thought, that in a capital punishment trial if the witness recanted his or her statement that it was cause for a mistrial. In this case we had seven witnesses recant their testimony, but the judicial system, the clemency board, Supreme Court found that this wasn't true if nothing else this man should have been granted clemency, a new trial. The death penalty in this country has to be repealed, we cannot be a civilized country with the death penalty in place supposedly we are the beacon of the world and to unfairly execute a man when there is reasonable doubt as to his guilt I just happen to think that this makes us look like a country that doesn't care about the rights of man. The fact that this was a black man in the South was not afforded the rights that white people are. I believe it states in the declaration of independence that all men are created equal. It seems strikingly strange that at the anniversary of the start of the Civil War that certain sectors of our country are not afforded the rights of the rest of the country. Due process of trials of capital offenses and the carrying out of sentences to the fullest extent of the law is an unalienable right of all citizens of this country. When there is reasonable doubt, the defendant in these cases should have all means at his or her disposal to prove their innocence and we should make sure that all avenues of doubt are therefore addressed before we execute the sentence of the court. Remember, that this execution was done in our name for the people I think that means you and me, we should always make sure that we are right when it comes to executing a fellow human being.
We should ask our court system to abolish the death penalty in this country. I would consider that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment, the Bible states thou shall not kill.

Has class warfare been declared
The president, came out today and challenged the Republicans to pass the jobs act, to raise taxes on the wealthy as 81% of the American people are for, the Republicans replied that this is class warfare, going after rich people, big corporations hedge fund managers and all CEOs to ask them for shared sacrifice is not the American way. At a time when our country is in need of revenues closing tax loopholes for the rich is that class welfare. Our history has showed us that in times of crisis we all must pull together, if you believe in this country that all people are equal, that the rich are not above us but the same as you and me, there should be no debate on raising finances money for the people that are not as affluent or had the power to buy a lobbyist on their behalf.
The Republicans in Congress, the Senate and state offices across this country have all sworn an oath not to increase taxes, close loopholes. Grover Norquist is not an elected official, a public official, he is a lobbyist to have pledged to him for the interest of the top 2% that they will not raise taxes for as long as they are in office. Any time that the issue of raising taxes is presented by this president, this Democratic controlled Senate, the House Republicans will come out and say that this is class warfare. For anyone to believe this and anyone that supports this idea is just wrong. The people at the House of Representatives represent is not just the rich and big business but the 98% do not make lots and lots of money. The Constitution is the only pledge or oath that any public official should show any type of respect for. Votes in Congress should not be bought by anyone, this is a house of the people not a big business, not rich people, not special interest. Our government is of the people, by the people, for the people no where does it say we must support the money interest of this country. If you believe in the principles of our founding fathers brought to this country you would know that the only class in this country is Americans. Of all the places in the world we are one people one country one interest that the laws of this country are for all of us no matter what race creed or color.
The founding fathers brought to this country freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to choose our way of life to vote for someone to represent us in the halls of government we pay these people with our tax dollars, with the trust of the people, to do the people's work. In this trust we only ask that the elected officials work for the good of all, not for the good of a few. Remember we're all in this together as a country, as a people, we are Americans we will prevail, no challenge is too great, too difficult or too hard to tackle, WE ARE AMERICANS. Check spelling

Will the Tea Party Take the Blame
Well I guess the deal is done. With the stock market in the Tank, the tea party and their minions got the whole world worried about U.S.A. paying back the war loans that Mr Bush got us into. But we can raise revenue cause the poor rich people and big business just cant seem to afford it cause they are to busy raking in profits.Oh my wouldn't it be terrible that they paid their FARE SHARE of taxes, corporation taxes and shared some of their money with the country. Of course not we just have to be thankful that they decided to live here and make all the money possible while we pay their way and has work for them at the lowest wage they can afford.
One of my friends on Facebook asked the question why doesn't congress wear uniforms like NASCAR drivers and tell us about the corp. logos. So we can see and listen to them promote them like, the drivers do. Something like, this bill is bought by the Oil Lobby and I would like to thank them for my family and all the people buying $5.00 gallon gas.We just couldn't campaign this year without their bribe I mean support. But come on now could we expect them to be that honest...mmmmm...no we elected lawyers and we know how honest lawyers are.
There you have it we just have to be so humble and count our blessing that we have a Government that Robs the poor and gives to the rich, but who are we to ask about whats best for the country.
We the people that's who and we need to get these people running this country for their employers
the people, you remember them the 97% that don't have representation from the people we elected. It's time we stop voting for these people and replace them with someone who doesn't have no Taxes on the Rich pledges signed and elect some one for the people and trys to help the people.

If it takes the people meaning us, to get in the streets and protest than we have to do it. We helped end a war that cost us lives, money and our place as a world leader. Now it's time to take our country back from a small percent who want to control everything we stand for and have earn from years of working and trying to build a better life for all Americans not just the selected few that happen to gotten rich on our sweat.

Happy Birthday America
I would call this an important day in the history of the world. The Declaration of Independence was sign by members the Continual Congress in 1776 and we went on to fight for our Independence from England or the British or Redcoats. Britain was a world power and we were just a colony in the British Empire like India. We support the British in French and Indians fought both of these and party much ran the country for them. But we did not have representation in the House of Lord's and one of the things that made us mad was they would tax the colonies when ever there was a need for money. Import tax, Stamp tax and a tax on tea. Our forefathers were against more taxes having trouble making a living and protested many times and ways again this oppression. Finally the Continual Congress,a group of men from all around the colonies, meet in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and decided to send the King a Declaration of Independence and revolt again this oppressions and this document was signed by the delegates and the 4th of July was declared as Independence Day and we have be celebrating it for 235 years. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY to AMERICA and thank you founding fathers

Fathers Day
Today Sunday June 19 2011
Happy Fathers Day to all Dads, isn't it great to be a Dad. The apple of my eye is my daughter Tegan, even if she isn't a little girl any more she is my best friend, joy of my life and the one I worry must about. She always is cheerful and I do worry to much about her[we all know that we do worry] but have been told that "it's my life and I do what I want to". I am sure that we have all heard this remark from the kids at one time or another. So I try not to interfere to much, but I still am the Dad.

I think of my Dad and remember what a bad ass I was or tried to be.Being the youngest was good and bad for me as I got away with a lot, but hopefully learn from my transgression, well maybe. To paraphrase Mark Twain "when I was eighteen I thought my old man was dumb, but by the time I was twenty-one I was surprised at how much the old man had learned in three years". I miss my dad and the things we did. He was my first catcher and used a Dazzy Vance, old timer from the twenty's, glove to catch me,I had a lot of heat in those days .He was an old 55 when I was 10 but he still play catch with me. I just wish at times he could have seen my softball career I think I would have surprised him and maybe even pleased him a little.Still I miss him and have a picture of him in my mind and heart. Its been almost 40 years since he passed away but still hear him in my head. Thanks Dad for all the love and the joy of history and sports.
Happy Fathers Day till we meet again

Finally We Got Him
After 10 long years we got the SOB and we give him what he deserved. Bin Linden is finally remove from the face of the planet and gone to his just rewards, straight to hell. The blood on his hands will be purge from his hands with fire and brimstone. Congratulations to Seal team 6 for a job well done,President Obama for decision to go and get him. These kind of people need to understand that we will get you sooner or later and strike you down, we do not make idle boosts we do the job. The military people do an outstanding job and we are proud of them.
I want my friends to know also that in our country 238 republican congressman and 41 senators and many state governors all have signed a pledge with a man named Glover Norquest not to in cease tax on the rich, close loopholes in taxes for big business. This man is the head of a large PAC and lobbyist group that backs and gives money to Republican re-election campaigns. I thought that congressman and governors swore to work for We the people not some big money interests. The things going on in this country's states is also very alarming. Union busting by Republican governors in Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan is a scary thing I think most would agree. In Michigan they have a law now where if the ELECTED officials have budget problems, the state can REPLACE elected officials with a manager of their own choice. So that means that your vote does not matter "we know whats best and you need NO say in the way we want things to run". That's not what this country is about and do not think founding fathers or the PEOPLE want this type of government or controls by government at any level. WTF..people wake up and put these people in the unemployment lines. IT'S OUR COUNTRY and WE DO HAVE A SAY in whats goes on. I for one think this wrong and we should stand and not be afraid to speak out,we are in trouble with budget problems and all of the republicans want to do is cut taxes for the rich and take away education, social programs and Medical plans to give more money to the rich. They should be willing to help our country in this time cause their friends in the last administration got us in this mess, and they still want more tax breaks and have you and me pay more to get less. They have the nerve to bitch and moan about how much they have to pay. To bad you get your money from free enterprise and now it's time to help the country. Give some back and quit being the greedy bastards you are.

MY FRIEND
Today I have decided to write a story about one of my friends, the reason for doing so is that it is his birthday. I'm not sure if any of our other friends know this or not, further on you will understand why. So please bear with me as I try to explain.
Being raised in a small town in upstate New York during the fifty's and early sixty's we had the good fortune to know just about every kid in town. The village had decided to keep the kids busy with a wide vary of actives and a recreation department that was one of the best in the area provided a number of places for entertaining us plus a few of our own.Being a member of the baby bloomers generation meant there where more kids in the schools than there were schools so they have us go 1/2 days. To have this as an excuse to go half a day was a truly great thing and was made better by having to go just in the mornings with afternoons off just was a joy.
So having set this up a little let me begin. My first meeting with my friend was at Sunday school.most of my friends all went to one form or another of early Sunday school my way was that it was right across the street and there was no reason why I could not go and for years had perfect attendance,[still hear that damn bell] in my class were six of the smartest boys in the town and they would go on to prove with the honors they received and grades they made. The other two members of the class were me and this other guy from the other end of town and he went to another school in town and was in another group of students. The brains were the six guys who could name all the books of the bible both old and new testaments and we were lucky to get Matthew, Mark,Luke and John hold the horse and I'll get on,sorry that's what I remember.
So naturally we become friends, you know birds of a feather flock together, and so on. Being that so many kids were in public schools they were using different sites for schools example would be Church's,theaters, and bars, yeah really a bar. So being the type with a good sense of humor and bored to death in school is not a good mix for studies or respect for teachers so I got to use a lot of different venues for school. So by the fourth grade I was sent to West End the name of the school and there was a couple of friends there that went mornings and had afternoons off. One was my Sunday School class mate. and the bond we had form became stronger and again we were not the brightest bulbs in the pack.He was quiet, a little shy and already be coming an outstanding sports athlete star.
For him I think athletics's help him come out more and devolve his leadership skills.meaning when we play baseball his position was catcher, football he was the quarterback. When we play small fry football there were three teams a traveling team where he was the quarterback and this was a team made of the best kids most were 2-3 years older than him, but he was a starter. We remained good friends and by that i mean as a boy you have friends you do things with and learn things from. He interduced me to fishing, i had my first over nite sleep out and fishing experience and my first beer with him. We play against each other in little league,Babe Ruth baseball and between the lines played hard.On my team one time I was playing second and one close friend Don was playing shortstop and my friend had just hit a double and was standing on second when the ball came in to and we exchanged pleasantries "like nice hit, how ya doing" that kind of thing, the way you talk during a game.Next batter line drive to Don at short,I come in behind the runner at second,Don flips me the ball we pick him off doubleplay. As he's coming back to base he spikes me from just below my knee to top of my spikes
and going back to dugout I look down and see the area of the sock is torn. I bat that inning, walking to plate I say"hey man, you spiked the shit out of me"smiling at me he says"next time get the fuck out of the way" a lesson learned. Another time we were in one of the three pools halls in town shooting pool and he was kicking my ass and I started playing around,he gets pissed and throws his cue on table saying to me "next time we play ether play to win or don't bother playing get it". Never hurt friendship still we reminded good friends.
When we reached high school, starting varsity quarterback 10th grade me JV running back he walks to me grabs my face mask looks me in eye and smiles says"helmet tight enough" no intend to hurt me just checking on me and making sure I'm alright, friends. This is what friends do for each and things you remember all the rest of your life about a person. I have a few more stories about my friend, but I will save them for another time and I will finish with this last part of this story.
On a warm summer night in July 1968, in a bar that we all liked, I was standing with my two close friends from growing up in the Village of Waverly NY. I was with my friends Ken LoVecchio and Greg Stiger,at the time I was AWOL from the USNavy, Greg was home on leave from USArmy to spend time with his wife who was pregnat before going to Vietnam he knew I was Awol and was asking me about it and how did I do it.At the time I had by then seen a lot of Marines in Brooklyn where I was station come out of hospital at St Albans just shot to shit and was very much in my anti-war mode. Here was a man who's wife was pregant, had been president of our class, president of student council two time captain of football team.As friends he had taken me fishing shared my first beer with me my first sleepout been to underage drinking partys together sold me my first car and asked me and Kenny if we would be ashamed of him if he went to Canada with his wife. We told him no, we understand why he would want to. Shortly after that he said he was going home cause he was leaving the next day to go back for deployment and want to spend the remaining time with his wife.
November of 1968 I was in the Brig in Brooklyn Navy Yards and trying to decide if I wanted to return to the fleet and finish my time in the service. I recieved a letter from my mother and newspaper clippings she told me that my friend, Greg Stiger had been killed in Vietnam, he had been in country for less than one month, to say I was stunned is an understatement, that helped to make my mind up.
Today is Greg's birthday he would have been 62 years old he still 19, I still visit he grave, I think of him often. I think the anicent Greeks said that if you remember someone after their death they are immortal, I do remember my friend and have for over 40 years.

In the summer of 1999 the Traveling Wall,Vietnam War Memorial came to visit Waverly and was set upon the playing field of Memorial Stadium the home of WHS football. On the Wall names of men killed in Vietnam, 4 of them played football on that field.

Today Is the Day
Hello
Today is the day we learn what the Governor of Wisconsin plan for his budget is. Looking forward to hearing his Great Plan for stripping the unions of public employees apart. To say that this is a cost cutting budget is pure BS. It's a plan to break the unions of employees and is the start of doing this under the so called Budget bills. Remember he gave the top percent a big tax break before he went to work on cutting his states budget. A man who is going to cut education, will not address the Unions agreement for the cost cutting he wants, but instead will try to gut education, medical bills and put the unions out of business.
There are other question to be asked, like no bid purchase of public services or buildings both public and private. So who's going to buy these services? I think we can guess that businesses that have an interest in sell the power to people of that state, like the Koch brothers who would love to have the monoploy of public resources and get another tax break and increase the cost to consumers. Again this is being done to pay back the interested people who want to break the power of unions. This old trick of the Republicans is one that's has been try for years cause unions usually back Democrats in elections and the Republicans want to end this.
Is it control of the country that these people want? If you're one who doesn't think that, start looking around and see whose is interested in controlling Congress, both houses, states and local government. The business interests in our country don't give a Rat's ass for you or me. That want us to work till we drop or age 69 which ever comes first. Take away any chance of retirement or medical coverage so they can sit back and collect all the money possible and not pay taxes, retirement or medical coverage for any one but them selves. This is greed at the highest level possible, The President asked for "shared sacrifices". In truth they will sacrifice us and share the profits.
We the people are at a point where we have to stand up and say NO or we are going to loss everything that this country stands for. People it's time, Wisconsin is showing us that We the People can stop this now or see the other Republican Governors of OUR country do the same for Big Business and leave us in ruin and working just for the profits and the greed of a few.

Sott Walker Finally Tells Truth
The Republican Governor finally tells GOP plans for the attack on the middle class. After he was fooled by the blogger in Buffalo, we find out his ties to the Koch Brothers. The GOP has finally revealed their pay back to the Big Business interests that support them in campaigns, lobbies and PAC's. Wouldn't be nice for we the people to have the ear of the GOP seeing we pay their six figure salaries, pay for their perks and health care
To have this revealed, it makes a person wonder what other kind of deals have been made behind closed doors. We all know that the GOP does not want to have health care for average people. Limit the President to one term. Give tax breaks to people who have more money than any of us will every have.Any investigation would be welcome to see how much corruption is involved. We have heard that Big Business was interested in buying the GOP and helping to make them selves the secrete controller of the laws and freedom we enjoy as Americans. Now we know what is being done to all our freedoms and what our votes are going for.GREED
Its time we stand up to Big Business, corrupted state houses, congress, what and where ever this is going on. All of us must have a corruption free government looking out for the people, not business.not greedy businessmen, not crooked government officials both State and Federal. Any one caught selling our rights, out should be removed from office. We live in a country of the people, by the people, for the people. That is what We ask of our Elected officials. That is what We expect from them.
Stand Up and Tell Them ALL. We will not back down this is OUR Country not just a few but all of ours.

The Baby Boomers have Finally Returned
I am so proud of my fellow Baby Boomers and the people of this country. Now is the time for We the People to stand together to tell and show the big business interest in our Political parties that no matter how much money they pay our Representatives that they Will Not take our rights away from us.What is the most important thing they are trying to take? The right of bargaining with employers for our rights to work in a safe environment,to have rights for a fair wage for our jobs and the right to organise if we want to.
The powerful business Lobbies,Political Action Committees {PAC's} want to break the unions grip in this country. They use the we have to get our budgets in order is a line of BS and we the people know now what their game is. The people behind this idea our the people who get all the big tax breaks. Not you and me who pay taxes, have the jobs, raise the kids on $50000 or less. We have no PAC,s looking out for us,we have no lobbyist's promise to help and poor Representatives who need the PAC"s to run for their six figure jobs. Whats wrong with this picture?
As tax payers we pay for their Health coverage, their salaries, their travel. What do they do? Try to end our unions, fight against fair health care plan for us and make sure that their cronies get tax breaks that they don't need. They work for us or am I wrong about that? It's time we clean house again 2012 is an election year again till then lets work to find who's for us and who's the big business buddies and get rid of those that Do Not look for us the people.

Lets remember that without the opportunities that this country provides the rich would not be a in a position to tell us what to do or would they get a chance to make as much money. I strongly believe that they should step up and help our country with funds she needs to build us back to a united country and get off the backs of the middle classes. The greed need not come first, but the needs of people and of our country should be first.

Wisconsin Leads Us Back to the Street
Hurray !!! The people are stepping up to fight for the rights of all the people. The Conservatives are finally caught with their leanings hanging out. Let's look a little at whats happening. The newly elected Republican Governor of Wisconsin wants to end the rights of the Unions to bargain for the things their members want and need such as retirement, medical, and rights to strike. Saying that the state can not afford it,but can give Tax Breaks to the rich and wealthy businessman with the threat of taking their jobs out of the state, which is a threat to get their way. Again the Republican with encouragement of the wealthy business men want to break up the Unions who speak for the workers. Remember that without the unions we would not have 40 hours work weeks, benefits for workers weekends off and protection from child labor. Big business hates unions and wants the republicans, that they spend millions on to get elected, to pay them off with the laws and tax breaks to recoup their money.
I couldn't believe that the Republican lead House wants to the endowments to PBS and NPR to end, but keep the money they give to oil companies in. The top five profitable companies in the world are oil companies with over billions dollars in profits. Doesn't that seem a little strange public broadcasting and public radio, don't need funding but oil companies do. It's been called "Muppet Wars" but really isn't because the republicans are afraid of the Muppet's because their smarter, warm and fuzzy and better liked than they are?

As a loyal progressive I was very pleased with the Presidents State of the Union speech on Tuesday. I agree that we must move forward in the country,if we want to keep being the leader of the free world. The political atmosphere needs to change and move away from big business interests to those of the people. We pay the taxes and we should have a bigger voice in the way this country wants to go.PACs and the lobbyists seem to have their say with congress and we the people have no other voice than our Representatives and they seem to feel that big business is more important than us. The rich get a better tax deal than we do,businesses get a break and we're stuck with the bills.
Why can't the rich and big businesses help the country at this time of crisis and ether pay a little more to help ease the deceit and later what things we can help with them in the things that want or need. If this were some other place in the world the government of that country could and most likely would nationalize all business that were turning a profit, likely for big business America is not that type of country. Now that we're in a money jam all they can think of profits and whats in it for us.I think you would call that greed, greed and more greed. The rich should help the country. Old sayings like"you can't take it with you" do have a place in this augument.

Thanks Keith
As everyone knows,Keith Obermann has left MSNBC and so our voice in the darkest area of cable TV,poltical talk shows. We have lost a voice that was an answer to Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity right wing views from Fox News Inventors. That's to bad, I for one will miss Keith and his outlook and special comments. I wish Keith nothing but the best for the future and hopefully he will return to the air waves soon. We need an answer for all the crap that the right likes to put out there, from death panels to sister Sarah the past Gov. of Alaska. Lets see if the Right takes advantage of the quiet from us the Progressives or Liberals of America
