Planning My Run for President
After I made the choice to run for the Office of President,I thought I would seat back and wait to see what happened in the mid-term elections and what kind of Congress we would have. Not quite as scared as I was before but still have a few doubts. After listen to "The Winners"of mid-terms and with the report coming of the Presidents Committee and or panel on the debt. I still need a little time to formula a different plans or ideas I would like to propose to the people I hope to have join the Party Of Truth [P.O.T. Party]
So please bear with me and I will post on the blog soon on my plans for the future of our party and the goals we will set and go forward on for the greater good of our country

RUNNING for President... Campaign 2012
The idea for a new party or political party came to me while watching all the negative ads in this years Midterm Election cycle.I am sick of the lies put forth by some of the people running for office or backing them for office. My biggest complaint is where is the money coming from. What domestic or international interests are funding our elections and why? The people of this country ,our country want to know.
So i would like to announce that i, John Griffith wish to run for President in 2012 from the People of Truth, Party or P.O.T. Party if you wish. I do not have support from any groups, businesses big or small. I wish to run as an Independent free of all ties to Lobbyist,special interests, only group i would like the support of, are the people.
We have for years, been run in this country, by special interest groups who control Washington and both houses of congress. After the mess they have gotten us into we need to show them that We the People, who pay them for jobs,their perks and benefits.Yet they allow special interests to run things and do things pertaining to whats best for them, not US.All we need to do is form a majority of people into one group that can vote for whats best for US the people.

let's talk about Pot Part 2
Today I will try to give a little history on Cannabis or as it is also known Hemp. I will use as a source Uncle John's Legendary Lost Bathroom Reader 5th, 6th and 7th Volume in one. I am sure you know hemp was cultivated for 10000 years, still it was sudden outlawed in 1937. Hemp was a very useful product. Used and woven into things like sails paper canvas[the word canvas comes from the word cannabis] seeds are high in protein. Used in lighting and lubration oils animal feed; extracts of its leafs have been used in a range of medicines and tonics.
A little history, Washington and Jefferson both grew it,our first flags used it. The first and second drafts of Declaration Independence were written on Dutch hemp paper. Canvas was used in the covered wagons of pioneers, Levis worn in the gold fields of California were made from it.
Mary Todd Lincoln's family was a large grower in Kentucky of it. After the Civil War it was the second most common cloth in American only cotton was cheaper and easier to produce.Maple sugar combined with resins{hashish} was sold over the counter as a harmless candy.Hemp was by the Navy for as a mainstay for rope.
So what happen...a few large companies conspired to have it banned as a threat to people health, or a threat to a few large companies that would profit from its ban. Lets take a short look at a few influence companies. in 1937 when hemp was outlawed a machine was invent called the Decorticator Machine, a machine that could produce 3 tons an hour of higher quality fibers than the wood base pulp and be cheaper,hemp would under cut the competing products.Popular Mechanics predicted and point out 10,000 acres of hemp would produce as much paper as 40000 acres of trees.
So lets take a look at a couple who would benefit from the outlawing of hemp.First was William Randolph Hearst whose for fortune was tied up in the product of wood pulp products and 1000's of acre of trees. His newspapers ran stories under headlines like"Marijuana makes dope fiends of boys in 30 days". "Hasheesh [sic] goads users to blood-lust"," New dope lure,Marijuana,has many victims". Hearst quoted the new new Federal Bureau of Narcotics {FBN} Harry Anslinger often in his Newspapers. Hearst and Anslinger campaign against hemp worked because in 1937 closed door hearings Congress passed the Marijuana Tax Act which outlawed marijuana in America.All the non medical uses were ban rope to industrial lubricants were taxed out of existences.
The DuPont company also had an interest in the outlawing of hemp since it sold chemicals to wood pulp products as it was developing and patenting new sulfuric acid processes for wood pulp production. A couple of years after the tax was passed new synthetic miracle fabrics Nylon and Rayon were developed for clothes.Future profits were expected to be in the millions and DuPont controlled them. These profits could have been wiped out by the new hemp process.Now for the ties to government by these companies. Anslinger was appointed to FBN by Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon who was chairman of Mellon Bank,Du Ponts chief financial backer. Anslinger connect to Mellon wasn't just political he was married to Mellons daughter. Also the AMA officials testified to congress and were quickly denounced by Anslinger and the committee and curtly excused
After the capture of Philippine in World War II, causing a shortage of hemp rope which was still used by the Navy, the government revised itself and overnight urged hemp cultivation and product a film "Hemp For Victory",then recriminalized hemp after shortage passed.Hemp oil was used as a lubricate in plane engines,webbing in parachute harnesses, and all rigging in the ships of the Navy and fire hose abroad ships.
Does the conspiracy continue? In 1992 the Drug Enforcement Agency rejected a petition to let doctors prescribe marijuana for people in constant pain stating"Beyond doubt the claims that marijuana is medicine are false,dangerous and cruel". But according to federal administrative law judge Francis Young," the record clearly shows that marijuana has been accepted as capable of relieving distress of great numbers of very ill people and doing so with safety under medical supervision".

So the debate goes on how do you feel and think should the Marijuana Laws be changed and could pot be legal for use tax revival would help in the trying times we live and the storage of money state county and local governments face. Who knows but at least keep an open mind.

Lets Talk About Pot
I thought it would be a good question to ask why not legalize marijuana for taxes to help ease Taxes and help with deficit, possibly end the border war in Mexico between the drug cartels. Yes it a crazy idea but if pot was legal and the price was controlled maybe we could drive the cartels out of business. But the chances of that happening are remote as the varies PAC's in this country would not go for it because of all the negative propaganda.Medical use is a good idea but then again drug companies couldn't have the monopoly that they now enjoy.Its hard to fight a multi-billion dollar cash business. The lives that the war costs plus the money ,time and resources we putting into it don't justify the end results. The bible belt in this country would never support any outrageous idea like this, but support the poison that is alcohol because of the tax revues it generates or the taxes tobacco generates so sin tax is in and pot is out. Most experts agree that pot is less dangerous than alcohol but its legal and we stuck with it. In a free country like ours you should be able to chose the way you want to go. But the government likes to tell you what you can and can not do. They prefer the poison of alcohol to the munchies.

WHICH WAY ARE THEY HEADED
The Republicans are running with the far right Tea Party and all the wild and crazy ides that go with it. The candidates for the Senate are so nutty that it seems they want to end all social programs, that help the poor and lower middle classes. They want to appeal heath care reforms cause it hurt the Insurance Company's, not put regulations on Wall Street, and privatize Social Security.Want everyone to work till their 70 and cut benefits. Whoa there big fellow.Since it is US that puts money in Social Security don't WE have a say in if WE want the money to go to the Wall Street Casino. The baby boomers are the largest generation live today and are fast approaching retirement age and could use the money they WE have put in for our benefit our old age or don't we count any more. I guess fighting a ten year war that cost us 58000 of our generation and made people rich doesn't mean dodo anymore.They want to keep a tax cut for the top 2% of the population that now only pay 15% to begin with. while the working class, US,pay 25% and they feel we are asking to much to get any kind of tax relief.But if business fail they the first in line to get all the help they need from US to bail out their failures and then pay millions in bonus to the same morons that ran the companies into the ground,excuse me ,whats wrong with this picture. So remember when they start taking again who put them in the position to do it. Think about who you want working for you. Remember they work for us,not some big company that doesn't give a rats ass who they hurt.

How goverment works against us
What has happen to "of the people, by the people,for the people" Do you agree that big companys should pay excutives big bonus for running their companys into the ground? If you did that you would be fired on the spot,not reward with millions of bail out monies from us. Tax cuts for the rich 2% of the country is Bull Crap why don't they pay their fair share and take it off the shoulders of the middle class.Goverment of the people by for the people is not a catch phrase but should the cry of ever American. Big business does not vote people into office, we do,big business doe not fight the wars, we do. They dont pay taxes on profits.They feel anything that cuts into profits is wrong. But when their in trouble their come to us with hats in hands to ask for help. When we're in trouble its like we do not exist.Please think aboutthat and see who looks out for US.
